"Why would you miss FiddleMania? It was one of the best times in my life! I liked it because it wasn't just a weekend it was a whole week. I learned so much. I love the teachers, they were very encouraging. I really hope to go back to FiddleMania next year!"
- Charity Adlington, Age 9.
"Fiddlemania is the Coolest Best fiddle camp ever! 2007 was my first year as a camper but the other years I went to all the faculty concerts and I was hooked. The teachers are young and cool and energetic. I learned new things from every one. You don't stay still. You get to be taught by different fiddle teachers every day. And....you can try all sorts of cool instruments. My first year I took lessons in guitar, mandolin, Double Bass and Bodhran. It was such an awesome experience, I chose bodhran to keep doing all year along with fiddle. I sure hope you can come to Camp too."
- Joshua Thompson, age 10
"What can I say about Fiddle Mania? It's a flash of laughs, good times with friends and music. While at Fiddle Mania you will get to experience playing one on one with various members of the faculty plus group sessions. The Faculty is amazing! Somehow they really put a relaxed, FUN twist on everything. The faculty concert is always amazing - but I also enjoy the student performance. There you get to hear all your friends play and are able to cheer them on! Fiddle Mania is a great way to finish off summer holidays with jam sessions happening everywhere [and anywhere] and meeting great new friends. Fiddle Mania's is lots fun!!"
- Annessa Good, Age 14
"The two longest days in the world are the saturday and sunday before Fiddlemania and the five shortest days are those of Fiddlemania itself!"
- Onyx Davidson, Age 10
"I have attended Fiddlemania camp for the last 3 years. It is great. It is better organized than another fiddle camp that I attended. Playing with other fiddlers is fun and there is a good variety of music. The faculty members are awesome...we learn lots of new things. The faculty concert is amazing."
- Amy Russell, Age 15
"The Jam sessions were one of the best things - a great way to learn
different songs. All the teachers were nice, and there was something
different from every single teacher. The group concert was fun, and
the solo recitals before were a good way to overcome nervousness before
the big concert - as well as for other concerts outside the camp.
I also like that you could make a little band with your own friends;
and I enjoyed how you could get a variety of instruments from the
teachers, such as the Bodhran from Sean and the mandolin from Jarred.
(The mandolin had the same fingerings ad the violin, so that part was
easy, but then playing it with a pick, like a guitar, felt a bit odd;
one day I would like to buy my own mandolin but I am saving up for a
viola right now so I can learn with Mr. Plotnik AND Mrs. Plotnik!)
Everybody seemed to fit right in to the camp, even Olivia (who is very
tiny) !!!!!! And I liked that nobody was trying to be better than
everybody else, we were just playing for the fun of it and trying new
things out."
- Edward Powell, Age 14
"This camp is fun, it has all different styles of music, expanding your
horizons. The teachers are very helpful, positive, and young."
- Kate Pereversoff, Age 14
"Fiddlemania is a fantastic musical experience. The teachers are very enthusiastic and each of them teaches their own style of fiddle music. Looking forward to going again this year!"
- Jessica Pereversoff, Age 13
